Neil Johnson, Chair

I am a Canadian who has dedicated 20 years to bringing Canadian ideas to the UK, living in London for 10 years.

When I realized the Terry Fox Run was no longer in London, restarting the London Run seemed like a perfect fit.

Terry Fox shows us what is possible when you never, ever give up on a dream, and it’s important his legacy continues in the UK. Cancer fundraising in his name is a big part of his legacy.

Robert Wattie, Run day coordinator

Having been born and raised in the Vancouver area, Terry was an icon and inspiration to me as I grew up.

My career in the food and wine industry included working for the Four Seasons Group. Part of your job at The Four Seasons was ensuring The Terry Fox Run took place every year. Returning to England and realising I could help re-start the Run, I knew it was the perfect opportunity to be involved.

Sadly, few of us will not be impacted in some way by cancer. If we take our inspiration from Terry, we can make his dream of beating cancer a reality.

Robert Brant, Secretary and Corporate Fundraiser

I was just a few years younger than Terry Fox and living in Ottawa when his Marathon of Hope began – long before ‘extreme’ anything was a thing.

I remember the excitement that was created in the country at the time and know first-hand of the legacy he left behind. A true Canadian hero and a cause that touches everyone in some way.

That’s why I want to celebrate Terry’s life by restarting the Terry Fox Run in London!

Rohit Sharma

Originally from Edmonton, Terry Fox has always been a source of Canadian pride and inspiration to me.

As a longtime resident of the UK, my passion for philanthropy was ignited when the Terry Fox Run was re-starting in the UK in 2020. The chance to ensure Terry Fox’s legacy of determination and courage, as well as finding a cure for all cancers, while supporting the UK’s Institute of Cancer Research, was a perfect fit for me.

Cancer is truly devastating and has left its mark on so many of us. But through targeted research and greater awareness, we can help fight and conquer it.

My family has suffered significant loss over the last two years and it is why I want to get involved in the Terry Fox Run.

Terry was an inspiration to us all though his bravery, humility and determination never to give up. Let’s continue Terry’s fight against cancer.

Lannah Carbonilla, ICR Representative

At The Institute of Cancer Research, London, where I work I’m inspired every day by the enthusiasm, commitment and generosity of our community of supporters… many of whom have been touched by cancer.

Terry Fox’s legacy is so much more than the millions that have funded cancer research around the world in the last 40 years or the annual family event which is now returning to the UK. His vision, determination, ambition and stubbornness is an inspiration for us all.

VICTORIA JONES

As a British Columbian living in London, it’s an honour to be able to share Terry’s inspiring story with a new international community. In my mind he is not just a Canadian hero- he is a hero!

Contributing my time towards raising money for cancer research in Terry’s name is nothing short of a privilege.

NOAH WISE

Growing up in Toronto, Terry was an inspiration to me, as he is to all Canadians. After a decade in Asia, I have now made the UK my home and aim to now inspire this corner of the world by sharing Terry’s story whilst also helping bring an end to cancer.
